CPR Training Course structure
Throughout this course, our expert Trainers will guide you through both theoretical and practical training to help you build the knowledge and hands-on skills required for the workplace. You’ll also complete both theoretical and practical assessments to demonstrate your competence.
This course is highly interactive, with an emphasis on practical training based on the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
Morning and afternoon CPR Training Course start times
At WAM Training, we run our CPR Training Courses twice in the same day – meaning you have the flexibility to send your team members to commence at either 7:45am or 12:15pm.
Language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills requirements
Trainees must be able to speak English clearly, understand and complete worksite documentation and explain and describe issues relating to performing CPR in the workplace.
Our expert Trainers will guide and support you throughout the learning process. However, please note that the formal assessments are closed-book.
To give you an idea of the language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills required, here are five example questions similar in complexity to what you’ll encounter during the course:
- What does the acronym DRSABCD stand for?
- What is the recommended rate and depth for chest compressions during CPR on an adult?
- When should an automated external defibrillator (AED) be used and what is its purpose?
- List two possible signs that a casualty is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- What action should you take if you are unsure whether the casualty has a pulse or is breathing?
If you’re not sure whether your Language, Literacy, Numeracy or Digital Literacy skills are suitable for this course, please contact WAM Training by calling 1800 143 343 so that we can provide you with a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment to help determine your readiness.

- Access to our Training Manager, who can help schedule further training if needed
