Course Overview
This fire warden training course code combines the PUAFER005 and PUAFER006 units of competency, making it suitable for either Chief or Deputy Chief Fire Wardens in training.
Trainees will be instructed and assessed on their ability to determine the extent of worksite emergencies and orchestrate the evacuation of the workplace in the event of an emergency.
What is a Fire Warden Course?
A Fire Warden course teaches fire prevention and response. Fire Warden training will cover the basics of fire safety, such as how to identify a potential hazard and prevent a fire from starting.
It will also teach individuals how to respond in the event of a fire and how to lead their coworkers to safety by following proper evacuation procedures.
Who Should Attend a Fire Warden Training Course?
Anyone assuming the Fire Warden, Chief or Deputy Fire Warden role within their company or organisation must take a Fire Warden Training Course.
The employer has a duty of care to provide an effective response in an emergency and must provide information, training and instruction to all workers in responding to an emergency.
Why Is Fire Warden Course Important?
Fire Wardens are part of a company’s Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). The ECO are responsible for leading all employees, customers, or visitors to safety during an emergency evacuation. In such events, life safety takes precedence over asset protection.
The Fire Warden training course ensures all trainees are competent in and have an up-to-date knowledge of fire safety. Trainees will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment once the course has been completed, as part of standard fire warden training regulations.
