COVID-19 Update – Lockdown 3.0

Here we go again! Another lockdown begs another COVID-19 update from WAM Training.

The CIRCUIT BREAKER ACTION began to take effect from 11:59pm Friday 12th February as Victoria went into lockdown again. Hopefully this one will only be for 5 days, due to finish Wednesday 17th of February at 11:59pm.

WAM Training has received advice directly from Business Victoria and the Department of Education – both confirming that face-to-face vocational training is not allowed to occur during this lockdown. This advice comes amidst rumours of fly-by-night RTO’s still continuing to conduct training in person – focusing more on making money than the health and safety of their staff and customers. As always WAM Training will continue to follow government directions, as the fight continues against COVID-19. As such, WAM Training will not be open for business until Thursday the 18th of February.

We have already reached out via phone calls and emails to all who had training course bookings on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday this week with rebooking options. We will continue to process your responses this week until all bookings have been rescheduled.

Rest assured, the following controls are in place to keep you safe from the coronavirus whilst training at our Laverton North training facility:

  • Face masks – As per government instructions, all trainees are to arrive at WAM Training with their face mask on. If you require a replacement for any reason throughout your training, we have spare face masks available.
  • Temperature checking – All personnel who attend our Laverton North Training Facility will have their temperature checked upon arrival, with individuals being required to depart immediately if they are found to have an elevated temperature.
  • Social distancing – Maintaining 1.5 metres’ distance between yourself and people at all times.
  • No hand Shakes.
  • Monitoring of COVID-19 symptoms – We’re monitoring for all signs of COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, coughing and sore throat. If an individual presents for training with COVID-19 symptoms, we’ll be asking them to depart our facility. We understand that this may seem a little ‘over the top’ – but we’re putting your safety and ours first.

We encourage you and will continue to work with you, to keep you and your families safe.

If you require further information or assistance, please call our office on 1800 143 343.

All the best,
