COVID-19 Update – Melbourne’s Lockdown Extended

Whilst I’d hoped to not be writing this post, I can’t say I’m surprised.

Melbourne’s circuit breaker restrictions have been extended by a further 7 days, now forecast to be gradually lifted from 11:59pm Thursday 10th of June.

WAM Training has received advice directly from Business Victoria and the Department of Education – both confirming that face-to-face vocational training is not allowed to occur during the extension, with the following exceptions:

  • high-risk work licenses
  • construction induction (white card)

We are in the process of contacting all of our customers who have training scheduled during the extension. If you haven’t heard from us yet – sit tight, we’ll be in touch very soon.

Whilst googling profusely to find the official rules as published by the Premier’s Office, I couldn’t help but notice that several RTO’s throughout Melbourne continue to offer their entire suite of courses face-to-face. Let’s hope that we don’t see further outbreaks as a result of failure to follow basic instructions.

We encourage you and will continue to work with you, to keep you and your families safe.

If you require further information or assistance, please call our office on 1800 143 343.

All the best,

Aaron Monaghan
