Restricted Height Scaffolding
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to erect mobile scaffold towers up to 4 metres working height. At the end of this course the participant will be able to:-
- Identify the OH&S requirements related to the erection and dismantling of scaffold assemblies
- Identify the main components of a mobile scaffold tower
- Conduct site and job planning activities related to performing work from a mobile scaffold tower
- Conduct pre-operational check activities relevant to erecting a mobile scaffold tower
- Report and record faults identified on the mobile scaffold tower
- Erect a mobile scaffold tower to the standards outlined in the safety instructions provided to the trainee
- Dismantle a mobile scaffold tower to the standards outlined in the safety instructions provided to the trainee
- Conduct a post-operational check of components
Usage of less than a 4 meter Scaffold does not require a WorkSafe licence. However, In line with employer obligations under section 21 of the OH&S Act, employers have a legal responsibility to provide instruction and training on equipment their employees are required to use. Proof of training covers elements of an employer’s duty of care under the OH&S Act. A one day course is offered to satisfy this requirement.
